No one knows the day or the hour of his coming, but there are a number of hints in the Bible. In Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21, God sends his Messiah to cut short the worst time of trouble this world has ever known. Daniel 2:44 tells of a time when “the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, “ Daniel 12:4 says, “But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
This time right now is unprecedented in history concerning people travelling quickly and knowledge has been exploding in recent years. The END TIMES began in 31 AD with Jesus’ death and resurrection and have been progressing toward the climax when he will return in the clouds of heaven in the full power and glory of God – to put an end to the battle at ARMAGEDDON which, otherwise, may have extinguished all life on the planet.
Revelation chapters 19-22 give the time line of events – Jesus returns and puts Satan in chains for 1000 years, then the resurrected saints ‘come marching in’ and rule over the physical survivors of ARMAGEDDON with Christ and the angels for 1000 years. After that there will be a second resurrection of all those unconverted in this life, who may receive their first opportunity to hear the gospel and choose eternal life – while kneeling before Jesus on his throne. So God will finally be able to show his vast love for all mankind and make his grace available to all who thirst for his righteousness and eternal life in the Kingdom of God. After this God will create the New Heavens and the New Earth and we will be forever with the LORD ! Hallelujah ! ! Hopefully we will get to explore the vast universe that God created for us.
