The Gospel of Eternal Life in Jesus Christ

God loved the people in the world so much that He gave His only Son so that all whosoever believe in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to judge or condemn the people in the world, but to save them. (John 3:16-17)

The gospel is the good news that God’s free gift of eternal life has been made available by Grace to all people and can be received through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Justification). His death on the cross and his resurrection have made a relationship with the Father possible by the Holy Spirit, who lives and works in Christian hearts to transform them into the likeness of Jesus (Sanctification). Jesus Christ is the free gift of God and his presence in our lives is the down payment of eternal life. 2 Corinthians 5:5 says, “Now he who made us for this very thing is God, who also gave to us the down payment of the Spirit.” We need to ask God to help us to be repentant believers and faithful followers of Jesus. At Christ’s return we shall be resurrected or changed to meet him in the air and so be ever with Him (Glorification).
